    Compassionate professional RN-led hospice care

I'm very grateful for Applegate Home Health - an experienced, RN-led team (nurses, CNAs, social worker, music therapist and therapists) who were compassionate, professional and often felt like family. Communication was clear and timely, supplies and after-hours support were reliable, and their hospice care truly made my loved one's final days more comfortable. Overall I was very satisfied and would highly recommend them, with only minor room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Across the collected accounts, Applegate Home Care & Hospice St. George is characterized by consistently compassionate, family-centered caregiving and a broad clinical skill set. Reviewers emphasize an experienced interdisciplinary team that includes registered nurses, CNAs, therapists, social work, chaplaincy and music therapy; families repeatedly cite kindness, patience, and professionalism as defining traits of direct-care staff. Clinical strengths noted include practical nursing support, effective rehabilitation therapy, wound and edema management, and comprehensive hospice/end-of-life care that prioritized comfort and dignity.

Communication and responsiveness are frequent strengths. Families describe clear, regular updates, timely after-hours contact, and a generally accessible office. Many accounts reference rapid mobilization of services (including next-day starts), timely delivery of medical supplies and medications, and flexibility such as respite and 24/7 availability. Care coordination with hospitals and facility transfers is reported positively, and reviewers commonly highlight the social work, chaplain, and music-therapy components as meaningful additions to clinical care.

Reliability and scheduling are generally favorable: punctual caregivers, reliable visit routines, and long-term relationships with aides appear often. That said, there are isolated operational concerns. A small number of accounts raised issues consistent with intermittent staffing shortages and occasional disruptions to caregiver continuity. There are also occasional remarks suggesting variability in clinical leadership responsiveness or nurse trust; these comments signal opportunities for the agency to strengthen supervisory consistency and contingency staffing plans.

On administrative matters, reviewers largely focus on clinical and interpersonal quality rather than billing or paperwork; positive notes about coordination and prompt supply delivery outweigh administrative criticism. Still, the pattern of occasional scheduling and staffing instability implies a need for clearer communication channels during high-demand periods and more visible administrative processes for families.

Overall, Applegate appears well suited to families seeking compassionate, skilled in-home and hospice care with multidisciplinary supports and strong communication. Prospective clients should expect high marks for bedside manner, clinical competence, and emotional support, while remaining aware that occasional staffing or scheduling variability may occur and that confirming caregiver continuity and escalation pathways with the office can help mitigate those risks.
