    Experienced compassionate flexible in-home care

I've relied on this agency for long-term in-home care for my mother and have been very pleased. The caregivers are kind, experienced and attentive-Sally was our main caregiver and Ron, Nikki, Chrissy, Amanda and Sharon were all wonderful. Nursing and therapy are skilled (excellent wound care), staff are professional, passionate, responsive to questions and flexible with scheduling, and the director checked in. I highly recommend them-my mom prefers their in-home visits.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews convey consistently positive family experience with Good Samaritan Society - Home Health of the Black Hills. Caregivers are described as caring and attentive, with clinical strengths called out specifically for wound care and skilled nursing/therapy. Several families emphasized long-standing relationships and named individual aides and nurses, which suggests both clinical competence and rapport-building are central to the agency’s delivery model.

Caregiver quality and clinical skills: Reviewers highlighted knowledgeable wound-care nursing and effective therapy services alongside warm, respectful bedside manner. The combination of clinical skill and interpersonal approach is a recurring theme; families noted that caregivers were both capable with medical tasks and comfortable in everyday in-home interactions. This mix appears to support continuity of care and family satisfaction, particularly for longer-term clients.

Communication and management: Office responsiveness and management involvement were also praised. Families described staff who answered questions and a director who conducted periodic check-ins, indicating active case oversight. This level of office follow-through reinforces perceptions of reliability and gives families a direct escalation path when they have concerns.

Reliability, scheduling, and flexibility: Reviewers reported consistent in-home visits and flexible scheduling that accommodated client preferences, including long-term, preferred arrangements. These operational strengths — reliable shift coverage and scheduling adaptability — were key reasons families recommended the agency. At the same time, the heavy reliance on specific, named caregivers underpins this reliability; that continuity is an asset but also creates a potential operational risk if those individuals are reassigned or leave.

Billing, value, and notable patterns: Families uniformly recommended the agency and expressed satisfaction with the care received, which implies acceptable perceived value; however, reviews contained little detail about cost, billing practices, or after-hours accessibility. Notable patterns include frequent praise of particular caregivers and visible management involvement. Prospective clients should consider confirming continuity plans (how the agency handles staff changes), request clear information on pricing and billing, and ask about after-hours or emergency communication protocols to ensure expectations are aligned with agency practices.
