    Compassionate, professional, seamless end-of-life care

I hired Griswold for in-home care and was overall pleased: compassionate, professional caregivers who often felt like family and provided knowledgeable end-of-life support. The office was quick, responsive and flexible with scheduling and documentation-set up after a hospital stay was seamless. I would happily use Griswold again.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews indicate Griswold Home Care in Raleigh is commonly experienced as a compassionate in-home care provider with numerous caregivers who form close, family-like bonds with clients. Families repeatedly praise individualized bedside attention, dementia-specific skills, and end-of-life experience. Many reviewers named specific caregivers and described long-term relationships, which supports a pattern of caregivers delivering emotionally engaged, consistent care when assignments are sustained.

Communication and scheduling: The agency is frequently credited with responsive office staff, proactive family updates (often via text), and quick intake processes—particularly valuable for hospital discharges and short-notice needs. Reviewers note flexible scheduling options including day/night shifts, live-in solutions, and last-minute coverage. These operational strengths are often paired with positive comments about coordinators and quick problem resolution when the office is engaged.

Reliability and operational weaknesses: While many accounts describe dependable, punctual aides and seamless transitions, an identifiable pattern of operational weaknesses appears across some experiences. These include inconsistent shift coverage, occasional long gaps without assigned caregivers, and administrative coordination lapses such as lost paperwork or intake follow-through problems. Several comments raised concerns about medication-management continuity and missed updates to families; these suggest the agency’s clinical and handoff processes can be uneven.

Professionalism and safety: Most feedback emphasizes warm, respectful caregiver demeanors and capable clinical support, but there are also instances indicating variability in caregiver professionalism and conduct. A minority of reviews describe significant individual incidents; these raise concerns about caregiver screening, supervision, and household-policy communication. Management responsiveness is generally praised, though a subset of families experienced uneven responses when escalating issues.

Value and recommendations for prospective clients: Many families report that Griswold provided peace of mind, reduced caregiver burden, and good value for discharge planning, respite, and long-term in-home support. To mitigate the operational inconsistencies noted, prospective clients should ask about continuity guarantees, backup staffing plans, medication administration protocols, caregiver screening and supervision practices, and how household policies (pets, smoking, etc.) are handled in agreement documentation. Overall, the agency shows strong strengths in caregiver compassion and flexible, responsive scheduling, balanced against occasional administrative and reliability gaps that are worth clarifying before engagement.
