    Compassionate, reliable end-of-life home care

I'm deeply grateful to Basin's in-home care team - Elvira, Chelsea, Kim, Ms. G and the nurses were compassionate, professional, and reliably available with daily visits, equipment when needed, and 24/7 phone support. Elvira's encouraging words and the grief counseling (Ms. Jean and Basin's free groups) genuinely helped my recovery and gave me tools to cope. The staff delivered on promises, checked in often, and showed remarkable understanding and kindness caring for my parents. I highly recommend them for end-of-life and post-hospital care; overall excellent service with just a bit of room for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

The collected reviews portray Basin Home Health & Hospice as an agency that delivers clinically capable, emotionally supportive in-home care for seniors and families. Reviewers frequently praised individual caregivers and nurses by name for patient, compassionate bedside manner and practical support during recovery and end-of-life situations. Clinical strengths cited include skilled nursing, equipment provision for home care, and a team experienced with hospice needs. Multiple accounts highlight the agency's grief and bereavement services, with community grief groups and one-on-one counseling described as helpful and providing coping tools.

Operationally, many families described reliable, regular in-home visits and accessible phone support; several reviewers emphasized the agency's 24/7 availability and responsiveness to questions or urgent concerns. The combination of hands-on caregivers and available clinical staff contributed to perceptions of strong overall value — families used terms like reassuring, dependable, and highly recommended when describing their experience. Counseling staff received specific positive mention for follow-up and emotional support after a loss.

However, the reviews also indicate areas where the agency's processes and culture could improve. A small number of accounts describe instances of unprofessional caregiver conduct and gaps in interpersonal communication; these point to potential weaknesses in caregiver screening, training, or supervision. Relatedly, reviewers noted occasional administrative and organizational coordination weaknesses — for example, inconsistent handling of concerns or uneven follow-through by office staff. A few families characterized the agency's complaint response as defensive rather than solution-focused, suggesting opportunities to strengthen customer-relations protocols and escalation pathways.

For prospective clients and families, the pattern is largely positive with respect to caregiver quality, hospice competency, grief support, and availability. To manage the comparatively infrequent adverse experiences reflected in the reviews, consider asking Basin about caregiver assignment consistency, supervision and training practices, and the formal complaint/escalation process during intake. Those steps can help preserve the agency's clinical and emotional strengths while mitigating the operational vulnerabilities noted above.
